Tarentaise Tours are proud to offer this off-the-beaten-track to the majestic 4,000m Aosta summit. For many clients, this will be their first ever big summit reached by ski.
Carefully led by your Tarentaise Tours guide, each day will be a new adventure - a skin ascent up to glaciers, a night in a remote refuge, an ascent of Gran Paradiso itself (4061m), and a glorious 2,200m ski descent down. All of this is combined with a final return heliski back through the Valgrisenche Valley.

The program
STEP 1 /
The evening before . You'll arrive at the base camp, our authentic 3* hotel in the heart of Ste Foy Tarentaise village. This offers good apres ski and evening meals.STEP 2 /
Day 1 - Meet up at 8.30am for the welcome talk and safety briefing with your High Mountain Guide. This ensures you are trained on all the safety equipment, and know the plan for the trip ahead. You'll then leave by private transfer for the starting point in Val d'Isere.Once in resort, the group will take ski lifts up to reach the first ascent - a 3 hour tour up on skins to the glaciers of the Rhêmes valley. Then it's a gentle ski down for the night, to the Refuge of Rhêmes-st-Georges, Italy. You're now well and truly on your way to the Paradiso peak.
STEP 3 /
Day 2 - After a good night's sleep, you leave at 8:30am by private shuttle and transfer to Valsavarenche. Here the group will put on skins and tour up 800m to the magnificent Victor-Emmanuel refuge at 2,730m. Here you'll spend the night, enjoying unparalled views of the valley below - along with deep silence and a star-studded sky.STEP 4 /
Day 3 - Departing at dawn, you'll start the ascent of Gran Paradiso (4061m). Approx 5 hours of ascent lie ahead in order to reach the summit. Once there, you'll discover a simply magical view of the whole Alpine range. Then it's a glorious long descent for the night, to the Gite in the valley below.STEP 5 /
Day 4 - You'll depart at 7.30 am for the private transfer to Valgrisenche and your heli-skiing in Italy. You board the helicopter for a quick flight to the Ruitor area and a 2,000m ski descent. At the base of the glacier, you'll attach touring skins, and in less than an hour will later reach a ridge. Here you'll ski down an easy descent to the end point. This offers more than 3,000m of run in pure powder snow - the only run this long in the world. For those choosing a 2nd heliski drop-off option, you'll return to the Italian side for your additional heliskiing experience.
